I am looking to go on some Pulmonary Rehabilitation training and I was wondering if you know of any courses that you could recommend that are being held in the next few months, if there are any courses in the North West then that would be great but if not I would be willing to commute.

Blackburn did their course via rachel.reynolds@loucoll.ac.uk ; 01509 515407 at Loughborough College, drop her a line, she is very helpful and will let you know what's coming up. they deliver their course on behalf of the British Lung Foundation.

Otherwise check out this link for the Wright Foundations up and coming dates / venues: http://www.wrightfoundation.com/specialistDates.cfm

Any of my team who have needed such training have shadowed the COPD rehab team in the local NHS service....

Hope this is of use.

I have asked Gill Hall from Respiratory Education UK to contact Kathryn.

They undertake this sort of training regularly and feedback is excellent. They actually trained the Healthworks staff in COPD assessments and delivery was spot on.

BACR phase4 is the normal standard and if you check out the following website it contains all the info you'll need.

Should you need anymore info you could contact Prof Patrick Doherty at York St. John as he is a leading expert on this field. p.doherty@yorksj.ac.uk

Hope this helps.

I am currently nearing completion of a Diploma in Higher Ed. In Respiratory Disease Management – which I am studying at Edge Hill University (a Department Called Respiratory Education UK) The full Diploma is made up of a number of modules one of which is Pulmonary Rehabilitation. All modules can be studied as a stand alone module or as part of the DipHE.

I would whole Heartedly recommend REUK - the tutors are fantastic and the modules are comprehensive and interesting.

Hope that helps! If you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I have also attached a link to their website
